About us

Polaris is an insurer and broker owned body that’s dedicated to setting the standard for the UK general insurance industry. We develop e-trading Standards that are used market-wide – by insurers, brokers and software houses. We also provide the products and services that support the implementation of these Standards – ProductWriter Suite and imarket.

We’re committed to staying ahead of developments within an ever-changing industry and providing expert guidance you can trust. Our ultimate goal is to help our customers deliver their products and services in the most hassle-free and cost-effective way.

Polaris facilitates an electronic marketplace in retail insurance by:

  • Working with insurers and intermediaries to derive working models (Standards) that support current and new market requirements for electronic trading.

  • Providing software (ProductWriter) for retail insurance product definition which reduces the costs of scheme development and accelerates the speed at which products can be brought to market and modified.

  • Providing an electronic trading infrastructure (imarket) facilitating access to insurer services by intermediaries over a secure network.
