The business transactions supported by the Personal Lines Standards are:

  • Audit messages
  • Claims notification & progress
  • Cover note issue notifications
  • Engineers’ fee invoices (motor engineer to insurer)
  • Engineers’ reports (motor engineer to insurer)
  • Mid-term adjustments
  • New business (placement only*)
  • Policy status changes
  • Premium finance instructions (broker to finance provider)
  • Premium reconciliations
  • Renewals e.g. invitation, pre-renewal query, alteration of terms

*The Personal Lines Standards do not support quotation requests because the UK market personal lines quotation capabilities lies with software system providers. The information passed by brokers to insurers is therefore restricted to details of a risk that has been placed with a given insurer.
