Product class data standards

To support the business process model Polaris has developed standard messages for a large number of commercial lines business classes. These standard messages provide a complete definition of the information required to support a process defined in the business process model (e.g. quotation, placement, renewal etc).

The data standards are specific to a particular business class (due to differences in the information that would be required) and to a particular business process (e.g. new business quotation, renewal invitation etc.).  Where information is common across different processes the definitions will be identical, with the intention of maximising reuse.

For each process which is being supported by a standard message we typically provide:

  • A technical definition (using XML schema)
  • Business analyst definitions i.e.
    • Structure definition (viewable using MS Excel)
    • Structure definition and code list guidance (viewable using a web browser)

The following business classes are currently supported by the data standards and can be accessed using the hyperlinks below:

If you wish us to develop a standard message to support a new business class or require a change to an existing standard message to support your business requirements please contact us.
